A Quick Tutorial...

A FEW THINGS TO NOTE

In the interest of full disclosure, there are a few things you should know to make your blogging/blog-enjoying experience the best it can possibly be. Also, to those of you who are new to the "blogosphere" aka "the world of blogs", these tidbits will help take the edge off. Here we go:

1. You can't actually POST to this blog directly. You can either: A) Leave a comment in regards to a post (see the cute little link at the bottom of each post? Click it.). In order to be able to post, I would have to add you as an "author". If you are interested in being an author, let me know. The only rule is that you have to know how to navigate well enough on this site to not mess anything up *smile*; B) Send me things (emails, pictures, etc.) you would like posted and I'll do just that. Email me by clicking here HERE. NOTE: Your content may be edited for length and clarity, but it's all you! (Examples are the two posts from Barbara. I added those in from the emails she sent to the family.); or C) Post what you want in the comment section. NOTE: Comments are moderated, meaning they are emailed to me prior to being posted (so I can make sure no "non-family crazies" post weird things on our blog). After all, this blog can be viewed by anyone surfing the 'net and you never know who may decide to speak their mind.

2. Archives (old posts) can be accessed by clicking on the appropriate link on the right-side of this page under the Blog Archive heading.

3. Posts are listed in order of newest at the top, oldest at the bottom.

4. I will also be including some interesting links on the right-hand side of the page. I will start out with other websites/blogs that pique my interest, but if you have some please share them in the comments section or email them to me and I will add them to the list at the right.

5. I am an old-school tech nerd - hard core. Put it this way, I programmed my first simple video game in BASIC (a computer programming language) at 10 years old. I love all things technology-based and I have learned to accept that not everyone shares this love o' mine. Bear with me...

6. I wanted to start this blog as a way for us to keep in touch with each other. Even if it's only by leaving comments and thoughts. Nowadays there is NO reason we cannot connect across the miles that separate us. All you have to do is log on - and it's FREE.

7. I think my family (the TWLs, as I will be affectionately calling them) is WONDERFUL - not perfect (who's family is?!), but truly awesome. In talking to Barbara over the past months, it is truly amazing how much we as a family are alike - even though we are not around each other all the time. I digress. I want us all to appreciate how blessed we are to be "fruit of the same tree". I'm sure you've heard the old adage, "You will know a tree by the fruit it bears." Our family must be the equivalent of the Mighty Oak, because NOBODY does it like the Tyson/Walker/Laneharts can. Can I get an AMEN?!

8. If you have any questions about any of this, please email me. I promise to respond to you as quickly as I possibly can.

9. You may see some slang and abbreviations in some of my posts. I like to keep things light and fun when I can. After all, we have enough heavy and serious stuff going on in the world already, don't we? I will provide clarification and definitions to my lingo whenever I can - so you can get used to it. ;o)

...and most importantly,

10. I love you all!!! Let's get this thing poppin'!

Smooches,

Yolie

PS: Don't be scared! This thing will only be as good as WE make it. C'mon in! The water is fine. *smile*
